Oriol Romeu’s summer move has been delayed as Barcelona await assessments of several midfielders and new signings this summer.
UFABET reported on Saturday that Barcelona have decided to delay Oriol Romeu’s move this summer as German coach Hansi Flick awaits assessment of the midfielder, who is recovering from a previous injury.
Barcelona have been struggling with a number of midfield injuries in recent weeks, ยูฟ่าเบท with Pablo Martin Paez, Gavira, Gavi and Frenkie de Jong all out with the former expected to be available in December, while the latter is likely to be available for pre-season training.
However, Flick received bad news from Euro 2024 after Pedro Gonzalez Lopez Pedri suffered a sprained left knee and will be out for around six weeks, which has delayed Romeu’s move.
Barcelona brought in Romeu from Girona last summer as a short-term replacement for Sergio Busquets, but the 32-year-old midfielder has failed to establish himself in the first-team as expect and is expect to leave the club this summer.
But the process will be slow down by Barca’s current injury problems and the potential success of their plans to sign new players this summer.
Although new manager Hansi Flick has vow to closely assess each and every Barcelona player in the upcoming pre-season campaign, there are some players who are beyond redemption and are destiny to leave Camp Nou this summer.
One of them is Oriol Romeu. The former La Masia graduate is coming on the back of a poor 2023/24 at Barcelona, where he was unable to establish himself as a first-team regular.
Many now expected Romeu to leave the club this summer, with a return to former club Girona potentially on the cards.
